The Reddit Account Stack in 2026: Farm, Buy, or Crack — A Survival Comparison

Three paths into Reddit traffic, wildly different survival rates, and nobody agrees on which one kills you slowest.

Updated Jun 2026 · sourced from 11 YouTube creators and 8 operator groups

Key takeaways

  • Self-farmed mobile accounts consistently outlast bought accounts — multiple vetted sources agree.
  • Bought accounts range $40–$150; quality varies brutally and ban risk is front-loaded.
  • Cracked accounts cost ~$0.71–$10 each but are ethically toxic and legally exposed.
  • CQS now gates posting more than karma or age — building it wrong kills every strategy.
  • Operators are split on jailbroken iOS vs. anti-detect browsers; both carry real tradeoffs.

Someone in an operator group paid $800 for roughly 20 bought Reddit accounts. Fewer than three survived past two months.

One died the moment the proxy changed.

That's not a horror story. That's Tuesday.

Reddit's trust infrastructure has quietly matured into something hostile to shortcuts. The CQS system is a year old and tightening. (Bjorn Olsen, Feb 2025)

Bot Bouncer now scouts accounts outside its own subreddits — multiple operator groups flagged mass bans hitting even perfectly-run iPhone accounts during SFW warmups in early 2026. And Reddit's June 2026 policy update made it explicit: nothing gets truly deleted, and reused or lent accounts are in the crosshairs. (Bjorn Olsen, Feb 2025)

So: farm, buy, or crack? Let's run all three through the same gauntlet.

Path 1: Farm Your Own — The Slow Lane That Actually Arrives

The core thesis from the most consistent cluster of evidence: accounts you build yourself, on mobile, from a fresh Gmail or iCloud, outlast everything else.

Multiple vetted creators have said this on the record. (Patryk, Feb 2026) (Patryk, Feb 2026) (Patryk, Apr 2026) (Patryk, May 2026) (Patryk, Jun 2026) One agency reports a ban rate of just 5–10 out of 100 accounts and attributes it almost entirely to skipping both buying and karma-farming shortcuts. (Patryk, May 2026)

The phone-first advantage is real and documented. Farm on iOS or Android, then transfer credentials to web for posting. (Damir Nurzhanov, Jul 2025)

Web-farmed accounts need longer warmups and ban more. One operator group reported residential proxy web-created accounts are simply "no longer good enough in 2026" — favor iOS-created, hand-farmed.

The evidence for mobile superiority is broad: at least four distinct vetted sources and multiple operator groups converge on this.

The minimum viable farm spec: - Account age: 30–60 days (60 days unlocks ~99% of subreddits) (Damir Nurzhanov, Aug 2024) (Damir Nurzhanov, Jul 2025) - Post karma: 2,000+ (Damir Nurzhanov, Aug 2024) (habibi, Aug 2024) — one group sets the bar at 3,000–4,000 for safety - Comment karma: 200–300 (Damir Nurzhanov, Aug 2024) (Damir Nurzhanov, Aug 2024) - CQS: at minimum "Low" tier; "Lowest" gets you banned in most subreddits (Bjorn Olsen, Feb 2025)

Warm-up protocol matters more than almost anything else. Three to five days of scroll-only activity, 1–2 comments per day, one new subreddit joined per day before any posting. (Patryk, Feb 2026) (Patryk, Feb 2026)

Rushing the warmup accounts for roughly 50% of bans. (habibi, Nov 2024)

For karma farming: anime and fandom subreddits (Dragon Ball, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh) are the current consensus safe zone. (Bjorn Olsen, Feb 2025) (Bjorn Olsen, Feb 2025) The well-known CQS-friendly subreddit lists?

Compromised. Reddit appears to monitor them as honeypots. (Bjorn Olsen, Feb 2025) (Bjorn Olsen, Mar 2025) r/NewToReddit's curated low-restriction list is specifically flagged as a ban trigger. (Bjorn Olsen, Feb 2025)

Cost structure: - Fresh Gmail: ~$0.02–$0.03 per email (habibi, Aug 2024) - Mobile proxy: one proxy can support 100+ farm accounts (Damir Nurzhanov, Jul 2025); operators run 2–3 accounts per IP with dedicated proxies when posting - A VA at ~$2/hour running daily account creation keeps the pipeline full (Damir Nurzhanov, Aug 2024) - One mobile proxy to farm; move to ISP proxy after two weeks (chatter, mid-2026)

The ceiling: one operator reports running 100+ accounts on jailbroken iPhones and rooted Androids with near-zero bans — warmup is the key variable. Another reports organic accounts posting 10–12 times daily surviving over a year, versus bought accounts dying in one to two months. (Multiple operator groups, early-to-mid 2026.)

Path 2: Buy Aged Accounts — The Expensive Gamble

Buying has a legitimate use case. If you need posting access now and can't wait 60 days, a quality aged account skips the line. (TDM Business (OFM), Jul 2025) (habibi, Apr 2024)

Some operators still swear by it. The keyword is quality.

Current market pricing (cross-referenced across sources): - 20–30 day iOS-farmed, 1.5k–3k karma: ~$40+ (operator chatter, late 2025–mid 2026) - 5k karma accounts: ~$65 (operator chatter, early 2026) (habibi, Jun 2024) - 4-year, 70k karma account: ~$150 (operator chatter, early 2026) (habibi, Jun 2024) - Budget accounts from low-quality suppliers: ~$25–$35 (habibi, Apr 2024) - One group flagged anything over ~$80 as likely a scam; another said $150 for a quality aged account is legitimate. Both sides exist.

The spec that appears in multiple sources as the minimum worth buying: iOS-created, hand-farmed, USA mobile proxies, 30+ days aged, with verified CQS. (Bjorn Olsen, Mar 2025) Operators repeatedly said to ask sellers to show CQS before buying.

A stagnant or low CQS on a purchased account makes it functionally useless. (Bjorn Olsen, Mar 2025)

The hard problems with buying:

First, the login fingerprint problem. The moment you log into a bought account from a different device or IP than it was farmed on, Reddit flags it. (Patryk, Feb 2026)

One operator group traced this to trust score dropping to zero on login with a new fingerprint and IP. Another said accounts ban within hours of first login on a new IP post-purchase — resetting the password and matching the original IP can sometimes unban them. (Operator chatter, early-to-mid 2026.)

Second, the history mismatch. Bought accounts come with karma that doesn't fit the persona you're building.

Mismatched username, wrong posting history, unusable handle. (B9 Agency, Nov 2025) (Bjorn Olsen, Feb 2025)

Third, the bulk ban wave problem. One operator group reported that during a February 2026 ban wave, supplier accounts were shadowbanned before the first login — replacements too.

Bulk aged accounts purchased in lots of ~100 have been flagged as getting shadowbanned on first login. (Operator chatter, late 2025.)

Fourth, the credential recovery risk — which bleeds into our third path.

Path 3: Cracked Accounts — The Nuclear Option

Cracked accounts are brute-forced real user accounts. Not auto-regs.

Not aged blanks. Actual hijacked credentials. (Dr. Hadi Talks, May 2026)

The economics are genuinely absurd. An account costs ~$0.71 on the low end, up to $5–$10 at market rate. (Dr. Hadi Talks, Jun 2026) (Dr. Hadi Talks, May 2026)

Combo lists sell for $10+. (Dr. Hadi Talks, Jun 2026) One account capable of 100–150 posts per day can theoretically generate $50+ minimum. (Dr. Hadi Talks, May 2026) (Dr. Hadi Talks, Jun 2026)

A "good" cracked account lasts 2–3 days before the original owner recovers it — enough for roughly 50 posts and $200–$300 in estimated value. (Dr. Hadi Talks, Jun 2026) Some are never recovered.

Those are the jackpot.

The funnel: cracked accounts → spam traffic to Snapchat → AI chatbot converts to OnlyFans. Same-day results have been claimed. (Dr. Hadi Talks, May 2026)

Why operators are moving away from it:

Operator chatter is sharply negative on cracked accounts as a sustained strategy. One group says cracked accounts get shadowbanned within two posts now — "reliability gone" (early 2026).

Another reports that keeping cracked accounts on phone is critical: relogging nukes CQS and triggers trust issues — you need to import the original cookie instead (mid-2026).

Beyond the technical fragility, the legal and ethical exposure is significant and worth naming plainly: using hijacked credentials is account fraud. The OFM space has enough platform risk without layering on criminal exposure.

We're reporting what operators do — not endorsing it.

One operator group flagged the original-owner recovery risk directly: the account can be reclaimed at any moment, and if the Gmail associated with it fails, the account is gone and unrecoverable. (Mid-2026 chatter.)

Where Operators Genuinely Disagree

This is the most valuable section. Not because there's a right answer, but because the disagreements tell you what's actually uncertain.

Jailbroken iOS vs. anti-detect browser: One operator cluster says jailbroken iPhones with tweaks (Crane, Ghost, Shadow, Orbit) deliver better trust scores than any anti-detect browser. Another says jailbroken iOS is 100% detected by Reddit and raises risk score. A third says to start on jailbroken iPhone, then move to AdsPower after warmup. One group reported Crane causes accounts to not load in the Reddit app entirely. No consensus. All positions have active defenders.

Bought vs. self-farmed: Vetted sources lean heavily toward self-farmed for longevity. (Patryk, Feb 2026) (Patryk, Feb 2026) (Patryk, May 2026) (Patryk, Jun 2026) But a notable minority in operator chatter still defends buying — specifically iOS-created, hand-farmed, USA-proxied accounts from vouched sellers — as more reliable than building from zero if you don't have the infrastructure. (Multiple groups, early 2026.) The key disagreement is whether the quality of bought accounts has collapsed in 2026 or whether it's a vendor-selection problem.

Gmail vs. iCloud for account creation: One operator found iCloud email yields moderate CQS at day one, while Gmail consistently gave lowest CQS. Multiple other sources recommend Gmail or Outlook. ProtonMail and temp-mail providers are near-universally flagged as causing fast bans. The Gmail-vs-iCloud question is genuinely unresolved.

Account density per proxy/device: Ranges reported: 2 accounts per phone (non-jailbroken), 3 safe, 5 on non-jailbroken iPhone, up to 8–10 with IP rotation on mobile. Operator chatter spans at least five distinct groups with different numbers. Treat 2–3 per IP as the conservative safe zone.

The CQS Problem Nobody Is Solving Cleanly

CQS is now the primary gating factor — more important than karma or age. (Bjorn Olsen, Feb 2025)

It used to take 7–10 days to build via quality comments. In mid-2026, multiple operators reported accounts getting stuck at "Lowest"

CQS on creation, even ones that previously hit "Moderate" within two weeks. The cause traced in chatter: reusing the same device ID across accounts.

Spoofing device ID — not just proxy and email — appears necessary. (Multiple operator groups, May 2026.)

And there's a counterintuitive finding: one operator group warned that checking your CQS score makes a ban more likely. Build the account yourself and don't probe it. (Early 2026 chatter — one group, treat as one unverified data point.)

For cracked accounts specifically: relogging destroys CQS. Import original cookies, don't relog. [g1 chatter, mid-2026.]

The Bottom Line

Run the numbers yourself, but here's the honest synthesis:

Farm your own if you have any operational runway. The evidence for self-farmed mobile accounts is the broadest, most corroborated, and most consistent across both vetted sources and operator chatter.

It's slow. The infrastructure cost is real.

But accounts that survive a year posting 10+ times daily are exclusively in this category.

Buy only if you need posting access immediately, you verify CQS and account spec before purchasing, you buy in small test batches first, and you treat them as medium-term assets with a known expiry — not permanent infrastructure. Budget $40–$65 per quality account and expect 1–2 months of useful life under normal conditions.

Anything under $35 is almost certainly a waste.

Crack if you're running a pure disposable-account spam operation with same-day monetization expectations and you've accepted the legal exposure. It is not a sustainable organic traffic strategy.

It is not compatible with building a brand. One group put it plainly: cracked accounts get spam-filtered everywhere now.

The window is shrinking.

The operators still winning on Reddit in mid-2026 share one trait: they built their own pipeline, warm everything on mobile, never share a subreddit across accounts, and treat every ban as a data point rather than a disaster. (Damir Nurzhanov, Aug 2024)

Everyone else is buying $800 worth of accounts and watching three survive.
